Betzold Musik Alto metallophone, diatonic

Tuned instruments, including metallophones, xylophones, and glockenspiels, can already be played by preschool-aged children. They are therefore excellent for early musical education, in music classes in kindergartens and schools, as well as in music schools. The 16 large aluminum sound bars of the alto metallophone produce the diatonic scale from c1 to a2, including fis1, b1, and fis2. The switchable damping device allows you to control the sustain - with the damping activated, it is reduced by about half. The resonance box made of maple wood is divided into different chambers according to the pitch of the corresponding sound bars. Two mallets are also included. The metallophones are equipped with 8 mm thick and 40 mm wide aluminum sound bars. Thanks to the thick bars, each strike produces a warm sound. The sustain on a metallophone is noticeably longer than on other bar instruments, such as xylophones or glockenspiels. To shorten the sustain, metallophones are equipped with a damping device.
