Product details
BASF Ultrafuse PC GF30 in black, 2.85 mm, offers excellent technical properties for demanding functional components. The Ultrafuse XSTRAND GF30-PC is a polycarbonate filament for FDM 3D printing, featuring a 30% glass fiber content. BASF Ultrafuse is a market leader in composite materials and is known for safety glass and insulation. The XSTRAND filaments bring the corporation's expertise into the world of 3D printing.
BASF Ultrafuse XSTRAND PC GF30 offers several advantages. The material is verified for UL94-V0 fire protection, meaning it is flame-retardant and can be used in appropriate environments. At the same time, it provides good heat resistance of up to 137°C. PC GF30 is only slightly hygroscopic, but it should be stored in a dry, dark environment and removed from the packaging only when in use. The filament is, as is typical for fiber-reinforced materials, stiffer and more resilient than the individual polymers. XSTRAND GF30-PC is UV-resistant and electrically insulating.
XSTRAND GF30-PC has been specifically developed for functional prototypes and demanding applications such as mechanical engineering, electronics, or the automotive industry. Note: The filament division of Owens Corning was acquired by BASF at the end of 2020. As part of the acquisition, the name was changed to "BASF Ultrafuse XSTRAND Filaments." The material quality and composition remain unchanged.
