Founded in 1946 as Zweckform Schreibwaren und Bürobedarfs GmbH in a former cow shed in Bavarian Oberlaindern, the company initially produced successful forms and carbonless books, and later also receipt pads and other office supplies. In 1956, it entered into a licensing agreement with the label company of American Stan Avery, who developed the world's first self-adhesive labels. The sticker boom, the increasing proliferation of various types of printers from the 1970s, and the Post-it phenomenon led to continuous expansions of the product range. Thanks to ongoing modernization and expansion in all areas and new partnerships, Avery Zweckform is now internationally successful. The company is present on social media and, for example, established an online printing portal in 2010 where consumers can design and print labels, business cards, foils, etc. themselves.
