Even though this is a 24-inch monitor with Full HD resolution, the model is hardly convincing in terms of picture quality. It also shows weaknesses in terms of high power consumption, and the features are equally less strong. The ergonomic functions, on the other hand, can be rated as good.
ASUS Vg248qe
1920 x 1080 pixels, 24"Product details
The extremely fast display of the Asus VG248QE gaming monitor reduces the time required to show the rendered frames on the screen. With reduced screen lag, gamers can improve their reaction time in games. The precise control of the voltage levels of the liquid crystals reduces the response time to 1 ms, preventing image delays and achieving smooth and clear image reproduction. Conventional 60 Hz LCD screens render motion extremely blurry and can have a disruptive effect, especially in fast-paced gaming scenarios. The fast Asus VG248QE gaming monitors with 144 Hz exhibit only half of these blurriness effects, resulting in a noticeable difference in natural movements and sharp details during intense gaming situations.
Asus Splendid Video Intelligence technology optimizes image quality by analyzing the individual pixels of a full image. This allows for optimal adjustments to brightness, contrast, sharpness, and colors. In addition to dynamic image analysis, users also have access to six different picture settings (Standard, Nightview, Landscape, Gaming, sRGB, and Theater) that can be controlled via a hotkey.

In terms of picture quality, the Asus VG248QE only achieves a below-average result compared to the competition in this test field. In addition, the model has to be criticised for its weak value for money. Ergonomically, the device is well designed and its equipment and energy efficiency are also average.
- Top gaming suitability
- Fast reaction time
- Good equipment
- Supports Nvidia 3D Vision
- Power consumption
- Viewing angle stability of the TN panel
With short response times and up to 144 Hz refresh rate, the Asus VG248QE is a good choice for gamers. The 2D image does not show any streaks even in fast scenes, and 3D via Nvidia 3D Vision pleases with only slight ghosting. However, the TN panel cannot compete with IPS or PVA displays in terms of viewing angle stability and colour reproduction.

The Asus does a lot right, and the short response time makes it more than interesting for gamers. 3D operation also shows good results, although graphic designers will not get their money's worth here, as the colour space coverage is not sufficient for this. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio can be described as good.

- Response time
- Interpolation
- Height adjustable
Except for the lack of 3D glasses in the scope of delivery, the Asus monitor is a pretty good device. It delivers good picture quality with fast response times. In addition, the monitor continues to score plus points with its good ergonomics and gamer suitability, while also consuming very little power.

- Simple, timeless appearance
- High gaming suitability (low response time and input lag, 144 Hz refresh rate)
- Numerous ergonomic features (height adjustment, pivot/rotate/tilt function)
- Clear OSD
- uneven illumination
- Additional costs due to 3D glasses + receiver
Thanks to its short response time, the Asus is very well suited for gamers, even in 3D mode. In addition, it can be adjusted in height and has a pivot function, which makes it very ergonomic. Only the weak illumination in the corners was negative, although the device works with 144 Hz.
