ASUS ROG Strix XG35VQ (35", 3440x1440)

Description

ASUS MONITOR ROG STRIX XG35VQ
Ultra-wide, curved 35" gaming monitor with 100 Hz refresh rate and FreeSync
Like all components of the ROG series, the ASUS XG35VQ is designed for demanding gamers. With its curved "Curved" design, it guarantees optimal readability right to the edge, filling another area of your field of vision for an impressive panoramic experience. Its VA panel is stable in viewing angle, delivers high color fidelity and ensures an extremely smooth display with a refresh rate of up to 100 Hz, even with fast-paced content. Thanks to "Adaptive Sync" or "FreeSync", it can synchronize its frame rate with the output of your compatible AMD graphics card to avoid unsightly tearing effects and minimize input delays.

One step ahead with "GamePlus" technology
A special hotkey takes you to the "GamePlus" menu. This gives you access to a range of features to stay one step ahead of your opponents. You can choose from a selection of four crosshairs, which makes it easier for many first-person shooters to shoot quickly from the hip without having to aim down sight beforehand. You can also display a timer and use the FPS counter to check how smoothly your game runs.

"GameVisual" technology: always the perfect preset
"GameVisual" gives you eight presets to choose from, so that you can call up the perfect monitor settings for the respective purpose or the game genre in seconds via the on-screen display (OSD). Choose from Racing, Cinema, RTS/RPG, FPS, MOBA or sRGB - depending on whether you want to watch a movie, see your opponents better in dark environments or need absolute color fidelity for photo or video editing.

Prepared for long sessions
The "Flicker-Free" technology prevents annoying screen flickering by optimizing the brightness settings. The "Low Blue Light" filter helps you to protect yourself from the retinal-stressing blue light component. With the anti-glare surface and the high, maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², you can easily recognize the contents even in bright ambient light.

As you like it
The monitor stand allows very flexible adjustment options: You can adjust the height of the monitor, tilt it up and down, and rotate it left and right. VESA holes even allow you to mount it directly to a wall. A configurable RGB light ring on the rear sets optical accents. Another highlight is the adjustable light signature: The stand projects a photograph onto the centre of its surface. Thanks to the supplied ROG logo covers and a blank cover, you can adapt this to your own taste.

Monitors

A monitor or display (sometimes called a visual display unit) is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises the display device, circuitry, and an enclosure. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors use a cathode ray tube about as deep as the screen size.

Charcoal

Anthracite is the most metamorphosed type of coal (but still represents low-grade metamorphism), in which the carbon content is between 92% and 98%.[2][3] The term is applied to those varieties of coal which do not give off tarry or other hydrocarbon vapours when heated below their point of ignition. Anthracite ignites with difficulty and burns with a short, blue, and smokeless flame

Gaming

Gaming notebooks are the front-runners in processor and graphics performance, which make the hearts of technology enthusiasts beat faster. They are usually strikingly designed with individually configurable lighting and keyboard layout. In addition to their stylish looks, gaming notebooks stand out for the following main features:

- Sufficient working memory (at least 8GB)
- Fastest processors (e.g. Intel Core i7 with four cores)
- Highend graphics performance (e.g. nVidia GeForce GTX 980M)
- Highest screen quality (above-average resolution/colour saturation/contrasts)

Additional speed is provided by SSD memory (fast program starts) and fast WLAN/Ethernet (shorter network loading times). Because this concentrated computing power generates a lot of heat, gaming notebooks require robust enclosures with efficient cooling systems. They also have a wider range of interfaces for connecting peripherals (mouse, keyboard, screens, etc.). So if you like to go to a LAN with friends and don't want to haul kilo of hardware, a gaming notebook is the best choice. Because where a few years ago only desktop PCs had the computing power needed to play current game titles smoothly, today notebooks can also keep up with the performance requirements of Uncharted, Far Cry and GTA.

Screen size (inches)
i

Screen size (inches)

The size of a display is typically indicated by the distance (in inches) between two opposite corners. One problem with this method is that no distinction is made between aspect ratios although the area decreases with the same diagonal the less square the display is. For example, a 21" 4:3 aspect ratio display has an area of approximately 211 square inches, while a 16:9 21" monitor has an area of only approximately 188 square inches.

Image resolution

Image resolution is a colloquial measure of the image size of a raster graphic. It is indicated by the total number of pixels or by the number of columns (width) and rows (height) of a raster graphic.

Aspect ratio
i

Aspect ratio

The aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of the width of the image to its height, expressed as two numbers separated by a colon. That is, for an x:y aspect ratio, no matter how big or small the image is, if the width is divided into x units of equal length and the height is measured using this same length unit, the height will be measured to be y units. Aspect ratios are mathematically expressed as x:y.

Refresh rate
i

Refresh rate

The refresh rate (most commonly the "vertical refresh rate", "vertical scan rate" for CRTs) is the number of times in a second that a display hardware draws the data. This is distinct from the measure of frame rate in that the refresh rate includes the repeated drawing of identical frames, while frame rate measures how often a video source can feed an entire frame of new data to a display.

For example, most movie projectors advance from one frame to the next one 24 times each second. But each frame is illuminated two or three times before the next frame is projected using a shutter in front of its lamp. As a result, the movie projector runs at 24 frames per second, but has a 48 or 72 Hz refresh rate.

Brightness

Brightness is an attribute of visual perception in which a source appears to emit a given amount of light. In other words, brightness is the perception elicited by the luminance of a visual target. This is a subjective attribute/property of an object being observed.

Colour depth
i

Colour depth

The color depth determines an essential property of raster and vector graphics: the differentiation of all brightness and color values.
The maximum possible number of (color) gradations is given in bits and thus designates the color depth of an image. These gradations represent a scale on which the actual color information is stored. The color depth is therefore the mathematical basis of the actual color information. In practice, an image never has the amount of colors that the range of this scale (color depth) provides.

A color depth of 1 bit would mean that in one color channel (usually red, green and blue on the computer screen) exactly two states would be possible. As an example, this would be black and red for the color channel red. With a color depth of 2 bits 4 states would be possible, for example black, dark red, medium red and light red. With the usual color depth of 8 bits, 28 = 256 states and thus just as many individual red tones are possible.
