The TU102-300 graphics chip of the RTX 2080 Ti, manufactured using the 12nm FinFET process, is based on the Turing architecture and, along with the GDDR6 graphics memory, is responsible for the performance boost over the 10 series. The supported ray tracing technology enables particularly realistic lighting and shadow effects, which is the reason for the name change to GeForce RTX.
