Artisan & Artist Flynn Camera Strap

The Flynn camera strap, developed by Artisan&Artist, is inspired by the paracord strap used on the Leica M2 camera of American photojournalist Sean Flynn. The strap combines leather and paracord material with great functionality. The length on both sides can be easily adjusted. The tip of the paracord never comes undone by itself, as each strap is carefully woven with Celtic knotting by artisans, allowing the user to easily hold the knot while adjusting the strap. This model, designed for use with compact cameras, features a newly developed loop strap attachment.

In November 2018, a Leica M2 from 1965 with a Summilux-M 1.4/35mm was sold for a high price. This camera accompanied photojournalist Sean Flynn, son of Hollywood actor Errol Flynn, who played an active role during the Vietnam War and was also an actor himself, through many battlefields. He participated in numerous parachute missions with the US military and took many harrowing photos that presented the realities of the world's battlefields. The camera he left behind in 1970 when he was attacked by Vietnamese communist guerrillas in Cambodia is highly valued by collectors. A paracord, a strong rope used for parachutes that he likely acquired from the battlefield, was used as a strap on his favorite camera, becoming a powerful element of this valuable piece.
