Eclisse Table Lamp. In 1967, Vico Magistretti created this technically sophisticated small sculpture for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide: The outer three-quarter sphere of the reflector is adjustable and allows the user to control the brightness of the light source, functioning like an eyelid. Vico Magistretti was inspired by the moon and its waxing and waning phases for his clever lamp design. With its stable, almost hemispherical base and a cord switch, the Eclisse table lamp stands securely on any side table—even on a nightstand. Especially as a reading lamp by the bed, the adjustable reflector provides the perfect light for both the reader and their sleeping partner.
