Description

Dive deep into your game worlds thanks to Curved design and experience them in brilliant colours thanks to VA panel. Enjoy an incredibly smooth, low-delay gaming experience with 1 ms response time and 144 Hz refresh rate. Thanks to its flexible ergonomic stand and various technologies to protect your eyes, this monitor is more than ready for long gaming sessions. This monitor has a curved display surface, the so-called curved design. Compared to flat displays, it fills a wider area of your field of vision with the same display diagonal. This creates an impressive panorama effect and guarantees optimum readability right up to the edge.
Similar to IPS panels, this monitor's Vertical Alignment (VA) panel offers high viewing angle stability, so you can still see the content when you look at the monitor from the side. This technology is also convincing in terms of colour fidelity. Compared to IPS panels, VA monitors often achieve even higher contrast ratios and deeper, more homogeneous blacks. This makes this monitor ideal for working in darkened rooms and for colour-sensitive applications such as image processing.
Thanks to FreeSync, this monitor can synchronize its frame rate with that of your compatible AMD graphics card, minimizing input delays and avoiding unattractive tearing effects. In contrast to conventional solutions such as "VSync", this technology does not limit the frame rate. Shortwave blue light can damage the eyes. The AOC "Low Blue Light" technology blocks harmful blue light beams to prevent this. This special process requires neither filters nor changed color settings. Thus the represented color remains here unadulterated.
The AOC "Flicker-Free" technology uses a DC backlit panel which reduces flickering light. This significantly reduces eye strain and fatigue caused by unpleasant screen flicker. Thus the use of the monitor remains pleasant for a long time.

Monitors

A monitor or display (sometimes called a visual display unit) is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises the display device, circuitry, and an enclosure. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) thin panel, while older monitors use a cathode ray tube about as deep as the screen size.

Gaming

Gaming notebooks are the front-runners in processor and graphics performance, which make the hearts of technology enthusiasts beat faster. They are usually strikingly designed with individually configurable lighting and keyboard layout. In addition to their stylish looks, gaming notebooks stand out for the following main features:

- Sufficient working memory (at least 8GB)
- Fastest processors (e.g. Intel Core i7 with four cores)
- Highend graphics performance (e.g. nVidia GeForce GTX 980M)
- Highest screen quality (above-average resolution/colour saturation/contrasts)

Additional speed is provided by SSD memory (fast program starts) and fast WLAN/Ethernet (shorter network loading times). Because this concentrated computing power generates a lot of heat, gaming notebooks require robust enclosures with efficient cooling systems. They also have a wider range of interfaces for connecting peripherals (mouse, keyboard, screens, etc.). So if you like to go to a LAN with friends and don't want to haul kilo of hardware, a gaming notebook is the best choice. Because where a few years ago only desktop PCs had the computing power needed to play current game titles smoothly, today notebooks can also keep up with the performance requirements of Uncharted, Far Cry and GTA.

Screen size (inches)
i

Screen size (inches)

The size of a display is typically indicated by the distance (in inches) between two opposite corners. One problem with this method is that no distinction is made between aspect ratios although the area decreases with the same diagonal the less square the display is. For example, a 21" 4:3 aspect ratio display has an area of approximately 211 square inches, while a 16:9 21" monitor has an area of only approximately 188 square inches.

Image resolution

Image resolution is a colloquial measure of the image size of a raster graphic. It is indicated by the total number of pixels or by the number of columns (width) and rows (height) of a raster graphic.

Colour depth

Colour depth

The color depth determines an essential property of raster and vector graphics: the differentiation of all brightness and color values.
The maximum possible number of (color) gradations is given in bits and thus designates the color depth of an image. These gradations represent a scale on which the actual color information is stored. The color depth is therefore the mathematical basis of the actual color information. In practice, an image never has the amount of colors that the range of this scale (color depth) provides.

A color depth of 1 bit would mean that in one color channel (usually red, green and blue on the computer screen) exactly two states would be possible. As an example, this would be black and red for the color channel red. With a color depth of 2 bits 4 states would be possible, for example black, dark red, medium red and light red. With the usual color depth of 8 bits, 28 = 256 states and thus just as many individual red tones are possible.

Pixel pitch

Pixel pitch

Pixel pitch is a specification for a computer display or other pixel-based device that describes the distance, for example, between dots (sub-pixels) of the same color on the inside of a display screen. In the case of a color display dot pitch is a measure of the size of a triad plus the distance between the triads.

VGA

A VGA connector as it is commonly known (other names include RGB connector, D-sub 15, mini sub D15 and mini D15) is a three-row 15 pin DE-15. There are four versions: original and DDC2 pinouts, the far older and less flexible DE-9 connector, and a Mini-VGA used for laptops.
The common 15-pin VGA connector found on most video cards, computer monitors, and other devices, is almost universally called "HD-15". HD stands for "high-density", which distinguishes it from connectors having the same form factor but only 2 rows of pins. However, this connector is often incorrectly referred to as a DB-15 or HDB-15.[citation needed]
"VGA connectors" and their associated cabling are almost always used solely to carry analog component RGBHV (red - green - blue - horizontal sync - vertical sync) video signals along with DDC2 digital clock and data.
Where size is a constraint (such as laptops) a mini-VGA port can sometimes be found in place of the full-sized VGA connector.

Power consumption (standby)

In electrical engineering, power consumption refers to the electrical energy over time that must be supplied to an electrical appliance to maintain its operation. The power consumption is usually a result of power used to perform the intended function of the device plus additional "wasted" power that is dissipated as heat, vibration and/or electromagnetic waves.

A linear or switched-mode power supply (or in some cases just a transformer) that is built into the top of a plug is known as a "wall wart", "power brick", "plug pack", "plug-in adapter", "adapter block", "domestic mains adapter" or just "power adapter". They are even more diverse than their names; often with either the same kind of DC plug offering different voltage or polarity, or a different plug offering the same voltage.
