Like other thermal pads, the Alphacool Ice Layer can compensate for irregularities in heatsinks and components to be cooled. However, it has a very special feature: the Ice Layer is made of thermally conductive paste with embedded fabric. This ensures that the performance of these pads is significantly more efficient than that of standard thermal pads, regardless of the low W/mK value. Additionally, it achieves better distribution and filling between surfaces, leading to improved air displacement. Due to its soft consistency, it does not exert pressure on components or solder joints. Nvidia also uses this type of pad for the Founders Edition. The Ice Layer can be easily cut to the desired size and applied to heatsinks without slipping. As a basic component or spare part, thermal pads belong in every well-organized computer DIY corner.
