Alesis Vi49

The Alesis VI49 is a USB/MIDI keyboard controller with extensive features. Numerous pads, knobs, and buttons allow for versatile control of music software. The 49 semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keys even respond to aftertouch. The octave select buttons provide access to the entire range of notes, making it perfect for playing bass lines, chords, or melodies.

Twelve assignable knobs and 36 buttons enable direct access to software parameters, whether for adjusting volume, opening and closing filters, and more. The 16 velocity-sensitive RGB trigger pads are ideal for authentic drum programming or launching clips. The multi-colored backlighting of the pads provides visual feedback on their status. As expected from a performance keyboard, pitch and modulation wheels are also included.

The VI49 integrates easily into existing setups. The USB port connects it to a Mac or PC while powering the controller. With the 5-pin MIDI output, the VI49 can also control external MIDI equipment such as synthesizers, sound modules, and samplers. The buttons, pads, and LED screen feature backlighting to maintain visibility in darker environments.

The VI49 comes bundled with top-notch music software, allowing users to create and perform their own tracks live. Ableton Live Lite 9 is an intuitive audio/MIDI environment for recording, improvising, and editing. Xpand.2 is a virtual instrument equipped with an extensive sound library, ranging from acoustic pianos and guitars to synthesizers and drums.
