This cable allows the connection of additional internal USB components, even when all the USB ports on the motherboard are occupied. It utilizes an external USB port, which is then routed into the case, or the corresponding device can be connected externally. This can be useful, as each motherboard has fixed USB ports on the back that can be repurposed as internal connections in this way. The cable is 40 cm long, is specified for USB 2.0, and is therefore backward compatible with USB 1.1.
