If you have a modern case with USB 3.1 device connectivity but no motherboard that provides a suitable internal USB 3.0 port, this adapter can help ensure that the case ports are not left unused.

With the approximately 40 cm long black cable from Akasa, you can convert the connector (USB 3.1, 19-pin, male) from the motherboard to a USB 3.0 connector (19-pin, male). Additionally, another connection cable can be attached to a USB 2.0 port to ensure backward compatibility for connected devices to USB 2.0. The cable achieves maximum possible transfer rates of 5 Gbit/s over USB 3.0.
