As a performance pad and keyboard controller, Akai Professional MPK249 combines deep software integration, improved workflow and the technology of the legendary MPC workstations in a single device. Each
model in the MPK series offers comprehensive control of virtual instruments, effect plug-ins and DAWs. 49 semi-weighted keys with aftertouch, 8 assignable knobs, faders and switches, 16 MPC-style pads with RGB feedback and integrated transport buttons are among the outstanding features of the MPK249. Three banks increase the number of knobs, faders and switches to 24 each, while the four pad banks increase the number of pads to 64. Thanks to plug-and-play and USB power supply, MPK249 can be quickly and easily connected to the PC or Mac. A power saving mode for iOS operation via the Camera Connection Kit is also provided. The high-quality keyboard offers 49 semi-weighted keys in standard size, an excellent response and a natural playing feel. Touch dynamics and aftertouch ensure an expressive game. Integrated octave selectors allow access to the full range of notes. Classic features such as MPC Swing, MPC Note Repeat, MPC Full Level and 16 levels expand the creative design possibilities. With the MPK249, musicians and composers can add real MPC workflow to their productions and take advantage of professional features. An arpeggiator with adjustable resolution, range and patterns enables the effortless realization of complex melodies. MPK249 comes with a powerful music production software package - including Ableton Live Lite and MPC Essentials. With Ableton Live, musicians and producers can spontaneously compose, record, remix and edit musical ideas in a seamless audio/MIDI environment. MPC Essentials is a software for sample triggering and groove/beat production. It can be integrated directly into any DAW, such as Ableton Live Lite, and also runs standalone. In addition, MPC Essentials expands the size of the pad banks by a further 8 and offers 4 samples and insert effects per pad. MPK249 contains two virtual synthesizers. AIR Music Tech's Hybrid 3 is a versatile virtual synthesizer that combines the warm sound characteristics of legendary analog synths with the possibilities of the digital era. With SONiVOX Twist, the Spectral Morphing Synthesizer, sounds can be created quickly via a clear user interface.
