The NeoPixel ring features 12 ultra-bright Smart LEDs arranged in a ring. The rings can be chained together, allowing each individual LED to be controlled by just a single microcontroller pin, as each LED is addressable individually via its internal driver chip. Each LED has a current driver for a constant 18 mA, ensuring very consistent colors even with varying voltage. This design is powered by 5V DC and is compact, as no external current-limiting resistors are required.
