Adafruit Contactless Temperature Sensor Breakout TMP006

Product details
This breakout board features a really cool IR sensor from TI that measures the temperature of an object without touching it. Simply point the sensor in the desired direction – it measures the infrared radiation of the targeted object and calculates the temperature from that. The sensor operates on all systems with 3V to 5V; a separate level shifter is not necessary. Two address pins are provided, allowing up to 8 of these TMP006 sensors to be used on a single I2C bus. The very small BGA IC is of course pre-soldered onto the board, along with the other SMD components. We also provide a 7-pin 2.54 mm header. There are two mounting holes for easy attachment. Ladyada has created an Arduino library again, so you can get this sensor up and running in minutes. The library is also useful for other microprocessor projects as it includes the formulas for temperature calculation. Size (without headers): 20 mm x 20 mm.
