With this USB 3.0 extension cable, you can extend a USB cable or a device with a USB-A plug. It is possible to extend a USB cable to a total length of up to 5 meters, as otherwise the signal quality would become too poor. USB Type A from USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 are compatible, meaning a USB 3.0 cable with an A plug will fit into a USB 2.0 port, and a USB 2.0 cable with an A plug will also fit into a USB 3.0 port. The maximum speed will then be limited to the speed of USB 2.0.
