The ACR1252U USB NFC Reader III is an NFC Forum-certified PC-bound reader that is based on contactless technology operating at 13.56 MHz. It features a SAM (Secure Access Module) slot that can be used with a SAM card for key diversification and mutual authentication, providing a high level of security for contactless transactions. Firmware updates after deployment are supported, eliminating the need for additional hardware modifications.
The ACR1252U can operate in three NFC modes: card reader/writer, card emulation, and peer-to-peer communication. It supports ISO 14443 Type A and B cards, MIFARE®, FeliCa, and ISO 18092-compliant NFC tags. Additionally, it supports other NFC devices with an access rate of up to 424 Kbps and an operational range of up to 50 mm, depending on the type of tag used.
Compliant with CCID and PC/SC, this plug-and-play USB NFC device enables interoperability with various devices and applications, making it ideal for unconventional marketing and advertising applications such as smart posters. The ACR1252U comes with an optional stand that holds the smart card reader at an optimal angle, allowing users to effortlessly tap contactless cards or NFC-enabled devices on the ACR1252U.
