Hello everyone, I want to connect a Ubiquity DR7 behind the AX7501-B19 and set the AX7501-B19 to bridge mode. However, it doesn’t seem to be possible, as this option isn’t available. What alternatives are there? Best wishes to the Community

Hello everyone. So far I have been using my mobile phone hotspot on demand as Internet access for all my devices. That works quite well. Now I wanted to put all my devices into a cable network and then connect them to the hotspot via a central router. So far this has worked, but unfortunately only once. As the mobile hotspot always generates a new Mac address, the Fritz box refuses to reconnect automatically and I have to reconnect manually each time via the Fritz box settings. Is there a router that allows this or does the setup not work with auto connect? All other devices have no problem with the new Mac address and connect directly. Many thanks and best regards ☕

Hello everyone I would like your opinion on my home network and whether it would make sense to upgrade the components now or in the foreseeable future. Initial situation: Internet connection: Swisscom 10G fibre optic Router: Swisscom Internet Box 5 (IB5) in the living room From the 2.5G port of the IB5 via CAT6 patch cable to the network socket, via existing house cabling Cat5e into the technical room (basement) Switch in the basement: TP-Link TL-SG108PE Access points: - Basement: TP-Link EAP245 (Cat5e) - First floor: TP-Link EAP245 (Cat5e) Measured speeds (speed tests): - PC via LAN (via Cat5e network socket): approx. 1000 Mbps down/up - WLAN mobile in the living room: approx. 1200 Mbps Down/Up - WLAN in the basement and upstairs: approx. 600 Mbps Down/Up Usage: Normal home use with several devices (mainly in wifi), gaming and home office. My questions: In your opinion, is my current infrastructure still up to date? Is the Cat5e cabling or the switch slowing down the network in a relevant way? Would an upgrade to the IB5 Pro, 10G switches or newer APs (WiFi 6/6E/7) bring noticeable added value in practice? Or are the speeds currently achieved still completely sufficient for the next few years? I look forward to hearing your opinions and experiences. Many thanks in advance!

What are the possibilities to improve my DSL Internet from Wingo? Current setup: Wingo performance Download approx. 350 mbps / Upload 100 mbps Hardware: Internet-Box 3 and 3x WLAN-Box 2 as repeater Depending on the area in the house, I only receive 100 down and 6 up speeds I would like to switch to Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra and add a few Ubiquiti U6s to improve performance. Would that work at all? Thanks for your help

Hello together Is 10 Gbits data throughput realistically possible over unshielded Cat6 network cables (U/UTP)? I prefer Cat6 to Cat6A/Cat7 as the cables are thinner and therefore more than one can fit into an existing conduit. In my case, the cables would not be longer than 30 metres and I would use Cat6A for the sockets.

Hello together I'm turning to you because I'm a bit stuck with my hobby of IT flair and IT guides, YouTube and the insatiable market don't give me enough objective transparency. The following facts: I live in a modern 3.5-room shared flat with a 10 Gb fibre optic connection. My goal is to set up my own home lab with my own cloud administration for documents, photos, video recordings from the surveillance cameras in the living area, Bitwarden PW hosting, VM experiments and hosting of game servers (e.g. Ark Survival Ascended, Minecraft, etc.). I also want to change my current network provider soon and get a new router that comes with some security features (e.g. DVPN/ VPN/ IPVPN, anti-malware proxy, etc.). Roughly speaking, I want the greatest possible flexibility and centralisation of my documents and applications with high security standards. As I work for a public authority, data protection is very important to me. I also want to protect my personal data as sensibly as possible. Questions: The main question for me is the hardware. Starting with the NAS, I'm unsure whether a brand of home-made equipment or a shelf product is the better choice, especially considering the electricity costs, but also the requirements for permanently hosted game servers. I'm completely at a loss when it comes to the network and would be grateful for advice from "good" network providers and high-performance components. Has anybody been using MoCA adapters in Switzerland? Many may have unused CableTV instalations in your homes, it could be a cheap way of extending your network with 2.5Gbs. "MoCA stands for Multimedia over Coaxial Alliance. It is a type of connection that uses the existing coaxial wiring in a building to deliver high-speed internet throughout the home, but without the hassle of drilling holes or running additional cable." Would be nice if Digitec would look into offering a variety of adapters, ie: goCoax, Asus, etc.

Hello together I've been the owner of the black Box X6 from Salt since yesterday. The WIFI signal has improved minimally, but there are massive setbacks in other areas compared to the white box. With the old box, for example, it was possible to connect a USB hard drive and integrate it into the network as a network drive. This no longer seems to be possible with the new box, or I am simply too stupid to find the necessary setting in the GUI of the box...Has anyone had similar experiences with the box? Hello, I have hardly any mobile reception in the hobby room, surfing is hardly possible. WLAN/Wifi is not available there (other house). Is it possible to boost the 4G/5G reception for an iPhone? Possibly with an external aerial or an amplifier? Costs should be kept within limits as it is a temporary solution.

PLEASE HELP if you are familiar with Ubiquiti products! I have a 4 story townhouse. Ethernet wiring throughout. Currently use multiple stand-alone WiFi routers with additional Ethernet ports. We often move from floor to floor so a MESH WiFi network is required. Especially for mobile phone calls as 4/5G signal is weak enough that the phones' "WiFi Calling" feature makes a huge difference. Also constantly switching from one SSID to another on our phones has become problematic. **Basement is the source for Internet via Fibre. It has the standard Salt Fibre Box with 4-5 Ethernet ports **Ground Floor is living room. Needs WiFi and at least 4+ Ethernet ports for TV, Sonos, AppleTV, NAS .. **First floor is office & bedrooms. Needs WiFi and at least 3+ Ethernet ports for Work PC, Printer, other. **Second floor is bedroom. Needs Wifi and at least 2+ Ethernet ports for Work PC, other. In summary, I need three [3] mesh WiFi APs but they each also need to have Ethernet ports - let's call each one a "machine"... Is it possible to have a powerful Ubiquiti Switch/Router in the basement with enough PoE that could power these three separate machines? I realise I don't actually need numerous Ubiquiti wall mounted dome WiFi APs, unless they are in addition to the "machines" I require. I might also need a fourth [4] Machine in the Basement - if I disable the WiFi on the Salt Fibre Box and enable the Ubiquiti sourced WiFi to allow complete seamless roaming for the entire town house.

I live in a house with two floors. Each of the two floors covers around 200 square metres. Some of the walls and ceilings are very thick. We have several laptops, tablets, mobile phones and IOT devices (cameras, hoovers, lamps) that need to be connected to the internet. Around 20 devices in total. My current setup looks like this: - The Wingo Internet Box 2 is used as the modem - The Wingo Internet Box 2 is not used as a WIFI router. Instead, I use a Netgear R6800 for WLAN via Ethernet cable, which experience has shown to have better performance - The signal from this router can basically be received everywhere, but the speed is weak in some places - I also have several Netgear EX6120 range extenders in use - LAN cables are not an option, the house is old and the effort would be too great It actually works quite well for everyday use. Thanks to the range extenders, the speed is quite good everywhere (about 70Mbps download everywhere instead of 100Mbps, which is possible directly with the Wingo Internet Box), but there are days when it's not ideal. Another disadvantage is that I have to use different SSIDs in different rooms. It can also happen that both download and upload speeds drop completely if two devices have increased data consumption at the same time. For example, Zoom on one device and YouTube on a second device. I would now like to tackle this problem and have several questions: - Does it make sense to ask Wingo for a new router, or is the current model sufficient for 20 connected devices? - I think a mesh system makes sense. What is recommended and offers good value for money? I would be grateful for specific suggestions. Ideally, it should be a setup that will still be up to date in 4-5 years, even if I connect more devices by then.

Hello everyone, I bought a Kettler 600 bluetooth fitness bike and put it in a maid's room 8-10 metres from my Swisscom fibre router. The room is separated from the router by 2 walls and 2 wooden doors. I get good wifi reception. My iPad bluetooth 5.3 connects to the bike but not the Kinomaps video application. I've looked at Bluetooth repeaters but they seem to be designed to extend audio only. Is there a solution to this problem? Thank you very much for your answers.

Hello everyone I am planning to change my internet provider UPC/Sunrise (the customer service is sub-par) in May, probably to I-Way, who have taken over the city network from EWB. Now my question; does anyone have any experience with EWB's fibre optic network, I haven't found anything on the net. Who would you favour I-Way or Init7. I'm not an Internet-Nurd, I'm a normal user or maybe a super user.

Dear Community I have a quick question on the topic of Mesh Repeaters. We have a hobby room in which we currently have no Wi-Fi reception. The room is outside our flat, half a floor up and about 10 metres away as the crow flies (the wall of the flat and the room are in between). In general, WLAN reception seems to be possible in the room (I am sporadically shown the WLAN of a neighbour). Now my question: Is this something a mesh repeater can do or is the attempt hopeless? Unfortunately, wiring would be relatively expensive >1'500.-. If possible, can anyone recommend a mesh repeater that can do this or even the Swisscom Box 3 (we have the internet via Swisscom).
