Hello everyone, I would like to book the 10 Gbit/s fiber optic internet subscription (CHF 39.–/month) from Galaxus. At my place (Reinach BL), fiber optic is available up to the building. However, I only have a telephone socket (copper) in my apartment; there is no fiber optic socket. I work with an iMac Pro (Intel) that has a 10 Gbit/s Ethernet port, and I use LAN cables exclusively. Wi-Fi is secondary for me. My questions: Can I book the Galaxus 10 Gbit/s plan if there is only a telephone socket in the apartment, or is fiber to the home (FTTH) mandatory? Who is responsible for running the fiber from the building to the apartment (Swisscom, owner, property management), and what does it cost? Does Galaxus cover any of this, or just the connection? If no modifications are made: What speed is realistic over the existing telephone line? If the fiber is installed in the apartment: Can I connect the iMac Pro directly to the Galaxus router (Zyxel) and use the 10 Gbit/s via LAN? What cable do I need for this (Cat6a or better)? Activation not possible. Ordered 3 months in advance. Received the router 3 weeks before the activation date. One day after the scheduled activation, I received an email stating that it is not possible to activate the service. After many phone calls, I learned that in Switzerland, the cable connections to the house belong to Swisscom. They do not allow Galaxus to use the copper line. Monopoly!!! Cheaper providers are not tolerated!

I would like to share my experience with the activation of my Galaxus Internet 10 Gbit/s fibre subscription - unfortunately negative so far. Has anyone had a similar experience or any tips? Procedure: 27.07.2025: Order with planned start date 04.08.2025. 28/07: OTO ID successfully transmitted. 04 August: No activation - neither router (Zyxel AX7501) nor activation email received. 04.08.: Contact to support. Answer: "Error during order", case was forwarded to specialist department - no time given for solution. 06.08.: Request for concrete time schedule - no response to date (10.08.). Did you experience similar delays? How long did the post-processing take?

Yes, the person blocked my data remotely. You're not transparent about these things. The moment your employee reset my sim, he blocked the 5G router data. At no time do you communicate clearly on this. I am really DISGUSTED by your service! 🤮

It is not clearly clarified who installs the OTO socket, what you can expect (example: 2nd socket), to what extent you have to inform the flat owner or whether I pay for it as a tenant or the owner. Alternatively, the service provider pays. After all, I can't take the socket with me when I move out, which increases the value of the flat.
