Netflix, youtube and co. I would like to order the Sony WF-1000x in black. But a friend of mine said that when watching Netflix films, series and everything else there is, that these headphones lag behind or ahead of the picture. In other words, the sound is not in sync with the picture. Is that true? I would be happy if someone could help me and maybe try this on YouTube.
Yes, that's right. These headphones create a right offset between the picture and the sound. I think it's almost a second that the sound lags behind the picture.
I suspect this is needed for noise cancelling. I also looked in the associated Android app to see if there was a low latency mode, but didn't find a suitable setting.
Therefore, I cannot recommend these headphones for video watching. The offset is really annoying.
The delay of about 1 second is really annoying, but only occurs when both headphones are in use. If you only use the left one, there is no delay, regardless of whether noise cancelling is switched on or off.
The delay occurs because the right headphone does not connect directly to the transmitter, but to the left headphone, which forwards the signal.
With a good video player (e.g. VLC and also in Kodi), you can compensate for the audio delay with a few clicks. Netflix and Youtube, however, do not offer this option.
