Question about AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (AM4, 3.70GHz, 12-Core)

User Digidog

My 5900x order, after counting down from 14 days, was yesterday finally saying "expected today". Then it changed to "No information available". How can Digitecs stock information system be so ****ing bad? I mean really, from a consumer perspective this is just terrible. :(

Same same, seems like they were expecting a delivery that hasn't arrived. That happens, of course, but what really irks me is that there hasn't been a single update from digitec on the Ryzen situation since 16.12. (which was on digitec.ch/de/page/amds-ryz...). Complete radio silence while people wait nearly two months for the hottest hardware release of the year.

Another reply from Digitec...

I can only apologise for the fact that the delivery information keeps changing for this article and I certainly understand how frustrating it must be to receive one piece of information, and then suddenly have it change.

Our system for delivery information may not work perfectly every time, but it is designed and implemented with the goal of providing the most accurate and real-time updates about a product's availability and estimated delivery. Given the amount and variety of products we have in our assortment, it would be very difficult to provide such frequent updates for so many items, if we had to check this information with the supplier manually each time. I would not like to deny that there are imperfections, but we implement this system with the best intentions at heart, and certainly not out of a lack of interest or care for our customers. In cases where the information is not updated as expected, we are always prepared to ask our suppliers for as detailed of an update as possible.

Please accept my apologies once more for the delays and the changing information for this order, and for any inconvenience caused.

It's amazing that they think this is accepable when so many other webstores in Europe do it so much better and take actual responsibility for the accurate delivery times of items like this.

People are waiting since weeks and months and while I understand that there is a shortage in Switzerland, Digitec need to stay on top of this and not just leave their customers in limbo and allow external parties to give inaccurate delivery times.

Hi guys the problem is that Digitec allow the suppliers to control all of the delivery date information and enter it directly into the Digitec system. This means that is a supplier forgets to update their stock status, or chooses to lie, then we are the mercy of the information that they provide.

Digitec take no responsibility for providing their customers with the correct information and they do not put effort into chasing suppliers to ensure that delivery dates are correct. This is another example of Digitecs failure to their customers.

We never saw real problems with Digitec ordering systems before because we never had situations like this where stock was so bad for so long. This situation has only highlighted how bad Digitecs ordering system really is. We are the customers, we should expect accurate updates to our orders and we should expect and ask for better service than we are getting now.

I received a reply from Digitec:

--------------------------------------------

Hi Digidog. After checking this matter in our system, I was able to find out that the availability information of the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is still listed as "no information." It is possible that the supplier, updated it in the meantime, and then had to revert to the no information status.

Please accept my apologies for any confusion caused by these updates. I would wait until the status of the item is "ready for shipment." This means that it has been delivered to our warehouse and is ready to be shipped. The supplier may update the delivery information in the meantime, but this is unfortunately always subject to further changes.

I am sorry once again for the continued delays, and I hope that the supplier will be able to deliver this item to us soon.

--------------------------------------------

So this only proves that the current system of allowing suppliers to update their own delivery deadlines is just not working. Digitec are once again outsourcing their responsibilities and failing to keep customers properly updated about their orders. Digitec need to take responsibility for this and they need to be the ones to go to suppliers to ask about the deadlines and update their own systems. They must take responsibility for keeping their customers properly informed.

Well if the delivery status is controlled by the supplier, I won’t expect a fast delivery since if they have the stock they will presumably deliver to those person who will buy this with a higher price than 549 or 599...
