Use more current than competitors, for no apparent reason

I bought this one to replace another nearly identical hub. It works okay, except that it uses so much electrical current that my macbook disconnect it as soon as more than one device is plugged in the USB3 port.
The very annoying part is that when it does so, it also disconnects all usb devices, the network and the screen.
It never happened with my previous hub and the same connected devices.
So, not very useful if you need to use several devices at the same time.
