Great product, still 'iffy'Jaybird build

I bought the Vistas the week they were released, and have owned several Jaybird products before this. The Vistas sound great and do a really good job of blocking outside noise. Once you install the Jaybird app on your phone you can update the earbuds' software and set a custom EQ, among other features. The Jaybirds are great for use while exercising, and while I initially used the Vistas exclusively for running, they soon became the only headphone I used when listening to music on my phone or watching TV with bluetooth sound. They are comfortable enough to wear for hours.

Unfortunately, while the build-quality is very high, I started to experience the typical build-quality issues associated with Jaybird products. Often, one earpiece would connect and not the other, requiring both to be placed back in the case so the connection would reset. Within 4 months the right earpiece was noticeably quieter than the left, and there is no way in the app to 'rebalance' the sound. Then, after owning the Vistas for ~8 months, the left earpiece stopped working completely. Both of these issues have happened on previous Jaybirds I have owned, but I was hoping the design had improved on the Vistas. Luckily they are still under warranty - if they were not I would not take the risk and buy them again (even though they are the best bluetooth headphones for exercise I have tried). Do yourself a favour and get the extended warranty! more
