Hands off this printer. The printouts as well as the copies, whether black and white or in colour, are of such poor quality that I could not even notice 15 years ago with the first multifunction printers. In a Word document, for example, the text is grey and not black and when printing in colour, mint green suddenly turns to light green. The printer was bought about 5 weeks ago and I have never been able to use it properly.

In the meantime, I have already sent the printer to Brother twice and the answer was clear: my description of the fault was understandable, but the deviations were average for this model series. Nothing was repaired or replaced and for this effort (60 min) the printer was gone for more than 2 weeks.

It is a pity that not even during the service (new device) something is done that can contribute to customer friendliness. This is entirely due to Brother. The poor service refers exclusively to the printer mentioned. Digitec has done its job very well within the scope of its competences.

Compared to the 6890-CWD that we replaced, many things do not work intuitively! Too bad, otherwise the unit is good. However, it is also loud (compare with 6890). Some things we haven't really "understood" yet!??

    Scanning
from the application? Up to now, only possible via the not user-friendly utility (very cumbersome when saving. For a second scan, the programme has to be restarted).

Duplex booklet printing? (A pdf document A4 is to be printed on both sides of A3 for "staple binding"). The reverse side is always printed rotated by 180 degrees! We have not yet found the setting to change this. It is not easy to find the setting to print duplex on both sides.

Information on such questions is not to be found. Not even a note on how to activate duplex printing is in the user manual!

Speed and print quality are good for such a device. It is a pity that there is not a higher quality device of this type (up to 1'000 CHF would be ok).

No thanks! Takes too much nerve.

I originally bought it to print A3 architectural plans for my business. Since it's far too slow for that, the paper always gets tangled up when it feeds and the colour quality leaves a lot to be desired, I quickly demoted it to my private printer! And even for that, it's a pain in the ass!

Stories: (in use for 3 years now)
    - Label envelope, use rear feed. It takes at least 3 envelopes to label 1 envelope! Either the printer feeds the envelope too early or too late, so that the address is not where it should be, or it crumples the envelope (however that works?)! Printing on envelopes is a real nuisance.

    - Scan A4 sheets with the top automatic feeder. I've done it a few times - the last time, the first two pages didn't come out at the appropriate tray, but between the feeder and the cover (where you can see the glass pane for "normal" hand scanning)! In addition, the printer grumbled that the sheet was too long!
And because the sheets are then crumpled, you can print them again! *shake head

    - Often it has blank sheets in between when printing because it took 2 at a time or it prints 1 page on 2 sheets (half on each sheet... tzz)

    - When copying you can't just "keep copying", you have to go back into the settings and type what you want, this always wastes time! Copying a document "quickly" is not possible. I no longer use the automatic feeder - too many bad experiences (document jammed, no longer viewable - even happened with an important original).

Keep your hands off this printer! I wish I hadn't bought it. Since I think sustainably and energy was spent on the production of the device, I won't just throw it away (yet). But it will be my first and last Brother printer/copier/scanner.
