Questions about Paulmann SimpLED

I don't think there are any corner connectors for this strip. You would have to put a 2 cm high rail at that point with a small bend in the corner there that would be effective. It is a very good LED strip and it gives a lot of light.

The settings are retained even after switching off/on (colour, brightness, mode).

The SimpLED Outdoor Stripe cannot be shortened or extended.

I'm not sure I understand your question correctly. The LEDs can be controlled with the supplied remote control, regardless of the length. However, I doubt that it is possible to control the LEDs with any other remote control than the one supplied. (If I am wrong here, please correct me).

The description and installation instructions on the manufacturer's website state that it is IP20 protected. Here what IP20 means: Most indoor luminaires are marked IP20 (IP20 lamps). The abbreviation IP stands for "International Protection" a term that describes the suitability of electronic devices for various environmental conditions and additionally indicates whether a potential hazard (e.g. a short circuit) arises when using the device. The IP code "20" is composed of two code numbers: The first digit "2" stands for "Protected against solid foreign bodies with a diameter of less than 12.5 mm" as well as "Protected against access with a finger". The second digit "0" indicates that the electrical device is not protected against water and moisture. What sounds complicated is actually quite simple: in the case of a luminaire with protection class IP 20, fingers cannot reach components through which voltage is conducted. However, the luminaires or the electrical devices are not waterproof and dustproof and are therefore only suitable for use in dry indoor spaces - for example, the living room or bedroom. Tip: Luminaires with IP 20 protection are not suitable for use in bathrooms and kitchens. It is better to use luminaires with a protection rating of IP 65 or higher. Hello Petra Difficult to help you from a distance. I didn't use connectors because I was able to put the sprips on the curtain wall. So, if the contacts of the strips are passed on 1-to-1 with the edge connector, then it should actually work. Do you have a bad contact? If you have a measuring device, I would check the continuity behind the connector. Do you have several connectors? And all with the same (negative) result ? This would then indicate that they are the wrong connectors... Sorry, that's all I know. Greetings & good luck Michael

Hello Astalder08 I didn't have to do that, for me the length was just right. But I know that the strip has drawn lines where you can separate it. I think your idea should work. My strip is tucked up pretty high, so I can't check quickly, but I'm almost sure it will work.

This is a question that I, as a "normal" user, cannot answer. Mechanically, it will certainly work with a splitter/adapter cable, but whether the power supply has enough power for a further 5m should actually be found in the technical specifications. I practically always operate the LEDs with "half" power/brightness, so it would probably already work....

2 times 5 metres, connected with the typical plug connection (i.e. only one supply cable from the power supply unit and infrared receiver...the idea is that one strip is plugged into the other to make a 10m strip. If you have other cables, you can also connect them, it is the same plug connection in the middle as at the beginning). What has to be considered depending on the intended use: I cut off the infrared part for the remote control and attached a DMX decoder, especially in finer graded colours (i.e. not just completely blue, completely green or completely red) there were differences between the colours of the first and the second strip....I can't say whether this is also the case with colour gradations that can be selected by remote control (which is what the product is actually made for). Probably it is, but whether it is visible enough is another question.

With the supplied one, you can only set a cold fixed white. But I think with another remote control and the corresponding infrared receiver, this should be adjustable. Since I also have a warm white in a certain place with the Fade mode.

I am relatively sure that this should not be a problem. I also have 5m + 5m running on one transformer at home.

There are plenty of tutorials on Youtube that show that it works. The problem if it doesn't work is that the warranty would be expired.

It worked for me. But our plaster is relatively fine.
