Can I separate the light chain after e.g. 7 metres, then make the 90 degree angle with the Paulmann Edge Connector and then attach the remaining 3 metres from the other side to the Edge Connector? Is that possible?

I didn't have to do that, for me the length was just right. But I know that the strip has drawn lines where you can separate it. I think your idea should work. My strip is tucked up pretty high, so I can't check quickly, but I'm almost sure it will work.
