The battery is already inserted and included in the scope of delivery, so you don't have to buy it separately. The mouse is supplied with a pre-installed AA battery.
The Logitech M185 is not compatible with the Unifying receiver. It uses its own pre-paired USB receiver, which is not identical to the Unifying receiver and therefore does not work with it by default. Technical reprogramming to pair it with a Unifying receiver is possible, but is neither officially supported nor easy to implement. For normal use, the USB receiver supplied should be used.
The mouse requires the included USB-A nano receiver to connect and does not support Bluetooth. Therefore, it will not work directly with MacBooks that only have Bluetooth and no USB-A port unless you use a USB-A adapter or hub. The mouse is compatible with macOS but needs the USB receiver plugged in to function. It does not connect via the MacBook's Bluetooth.
The mouse is not natively compatible with Logitech's Unifying receiver. It uses a dedicated pre-paired USB receiver, separate from the Unifying receiver. However, it is possible, through advanced technical modifications, to make it work with a Unifying receiver, but this is neither officially supported nor simple to achieve. For standard use, the receiver supplied with the mouse should be used.
Unfortunately I can't answer your question, but if you haven't bought the mouse yet, I wouldn't bother: mine, connected to the hp laptop via a usb connector, fails 1 or 2 times a day, just stops, then I have to plug in the usb connector again and it works again. Annoying...
I also thought my wife was quiet when I got married. But unfortunately I can't return her or turn her down either.
Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Little tip: https://www.logitech.com/de-ch/product/m220-silent
Logitech apparently produces different versions of the M185 mouse, which may differ in small details, including Unifying or Non Unifying. The description can be found in Logitech's specifications (5 versions can be seen under USA, but not in Switzerland):

The description in Switzerland only shows a Unifying version. Probably slightly different versions are produced for different markets. In Switzerland, however, only one Unifying version should be on sale.
Hello,
Normally, yes, it should work.
You have to pair the new mouse with the unifying receiver using the Logitech software (https://support.logi.com/hc/fr/articles/360025297913)
Follow the procedure well but it should work.
I'm sure it will work.
Normally you can just connect these mice wirelessly via the USB plug, which is also much more stable.
So I am very sure that this is not possible via Bluetooth.
Yes, this should work for all Logitech wireless peripherals that can be used with a Unifying adapter.
I use the K800 keyboard with the M705 mouse on 1 Unifying receiver without any problems.
