Until now, you always had to consult other websites for graphics card reviews. This is now a thing of the past. We now have a testbench on which we test graphics cards and the like for you.

Over the next few weeks, you'll be reading various graphics card reviews on digitec. These will also include models that are no longer brand new. This is because we want to build up a database. So you can find all the necessary information about graphics cards on digitec and decide right here which model is right for you.

Our testbench

A testbench is a really great thing. So far, I've been doing reviews of PC components with my personal PC. Even though I like to screw things together, it's tedious: removing my components every time, then installing the test components, removing them again after the test and finally putting my own components back in. That's all over now.

We are testing on the following benchtable with a Corsair power supply unit:

DimasTech Easy V3.0 (ATX, mATX, Mini-ITX, XL-ATX)
PC case

ATX, mATX, Mini-ITX, XL-ATX

We have selected a Ryzen 9 3900X as the processor. It runs on this motherboard:

ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Formula (AM4, AMD X570, ATX)

We have 16 GB of RAM on it, namely this one:

Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB (2 x 8GB, 3200 MHz, DDR4-RAM, DIMM)

We are relying on a Gen4 PCIe M.2 SSD:

Corsair MP600 (1000 GB, M.2 2280)

How should we test?

Of course, we already have a plan for how we do the reviews. We'd love to get you involved too. Write in the comments column which benchmarks and games you think are useful for the reviews. For now, we have planned the following:

  • Fire Strike and Fire Strike Ultra
  • Time Spy and Time Spy Extreme
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (DirectX 11) in 1080p and 1440p; 2160p where appropriate
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider (DirectX 12) in 1080p and 1440p; 2160p where appropriate
  • Strange Brigade (Vulkan) in 1080p and 1440p; also 2160p where appropriate
  • Control (DirectX 12; if possible with and without ray tracing) in 1080p and 1440p; where appropriate also 2160p
