Take a Byte episode 3: The joys and sorrows of the new Macs

The new Macs are here. Opinions are divided on the iMac, the MacBook Pro is reaching new heights and with the new M3 chip you have to choose between efficiency and performance. Samuel has benchmarked a lot in the last few weeks and lets Flo pester him with questions.
Apple held a keynote entitled "scary fast" for Halloween. The tests show: The motto was not completely made up out of thin air. The new M3 chips are indeed fast. Apple immediately installed them in the new iMac and the MacBook Pro.
Samuel took a look at the devices and answered Flo's catalogue of questions. Despite the new processor, he is not very impressed with the new iMacs. In his opinion, the meagre improvements do not justify a three-year wait. On the other hand, he thinks the MacBook Pro with the mid-sized M3 Pro chip is better than many other experts.
And what about the competition from the Windows world? Samuel contrasted the new MacBook Pro with the device that is being touted as its equivalent. The Surface Laptop Studio from Microsoft. Who has the edge?

The cameras are used when travelling or on rock faces at dizzying heights. Naturally, he edits the images on a Mac. Because whether it's his headphones, smartphone or laptop, Samuel is deeply rooted in the garden of the nibbled apple.

Data protection and audio issues are two of Florian's favourite topics. Whether it's cyberattacks, phishing emails or browser malware - Flo knows every recipe. His favourite way to prepare his meals is on his trusty MacBook. He doesn't get lost in the Windows jungle that often any more. Except when he wants to game "Counter-Strike". But even then, thanks to the Parallels software, he remains loyal to the bitten apple world. He also sometimes has a gripe about the performance of his football club. Because despite his adopted home of Winterthur, his heart still beats red and blue.
