Apple is currently increasingly the focus of antitrust authorities. In some cases with success. We discuss the current cases, the trends and the consequences.
Sideloading, RCS, NFC, steering: Apple and its proprietary technologies have recently been the subject of more investigations than ever before. The US and, above all, the European antitrust authorities want to enforce their regulations with the utmost rigour. They want to prevent large tech companies from becoming too powerful. Allegedly in favour of end users and smaller competitors.
We take a look at all current and completed proceedings and how they have turned out or could turn out. We also discuss what Apple's cooperation with the authorities has looked like so far and how the company is changing with the new rules of the game. Will Apple's hesitant behaviour soon result in a fine or will we even have to deal with a division of the company?
