Sony WH-1000XM6: new colour for Sony's top headphones
Sony is expanding the WH-1000XM6 with a sandstone colour variant. The noise-cancelling headphones remain technically unchanged. The new version is now available from us.
A good pair of noise-cancelling headphones is particularly worthwhile if you are regularly on the move, need peace and quiet in the office or want to listen to music without constant background noise. The WH-1000XM6 belong in this category. They are Sony's up-to-date over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation, a foldable design and a battery life of up to 30 hours.
Technically unchanged, Sony has simply given the WH-1000XM6 a new colour option: sandstone («Sandstone»).

Drivers, Bluetooth and multipoint
A 30-millimetre driver with a neodymium magnet is employed inside. The headphones support the Bluetooth codecs SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3. According to Sony, it covers 20 to 20,000 hertz via Bluetooth. With LDAC at 96 kilohertz and 990 kbit/s, the frequency range extends up to 40,000 hertz.
Multipoint is available for multiple devices. This means you can pair the headphones with a notebook and smartphone at the same time.

Battery, weight and cable operation
With noise cancelling switched on, Sony claims up to 30 hours of music playback. Without noise cancelling it is up to 40 hours. For phone calls, the figures are a maximum of 24 and 28 hours respectively
Charged via USB-C. According to the manufacturer, a full charge takes around 3.5 hours. Sony specifies the weight at around 254 grammes.
The WH-1000XM6 can also be used with a cable. It has a stereo mini-jack input for this purpose. The scope of delivery includes a connection cable, a USB cable and a carrying case.
More about the everyday test
My colleague Florian has already tested in detail how well noise cancelling, sound, wearing comfort and the folding mechanism work in everyday life:
My interests are varied, I just like to enjoy life. Always on the lookout for news about darts, gaming, films and series.
