Podcast episode 111: Gamescom again at last
Phil was at Gamescom in Cologne and played lots of new games there. He reveals his favourites in the podcast. He also talks about Sony, Disney and a whole host of new films and series.
For the first time since 2019, Cologne was the Mecca of the European games industry again this year. Phil had a look around at "Gamescom", tells us about gaming gems and his highlights. Sony wasn't at Gamescom, but the Japanese still made plenty of headlines: On the one hand, they are being sued in the UK for six billion francs, on the other hand Sony is raising the price of the Playstation 5. But there is still enough for one positive headline: The "Dual Sense Edge" controller, which was presented this week, is the professional version of the popular PS5 input device.
Disney has overtaken Netflix in subscription numbers but is making big losses. Luca doesn't understand at all that they are now making their subscription more expensive. On the other hand, the first episode of the new "Game of Thrones" series "House Of The Dragon" calmed him down, while "She-Hulk" rather made him furious. Simon also reviews "Kimi" and "Dopesick" in our Big Screen section.
Finally, Phil explains what makes the new "Saints Row" fun and what "Splatoon 3" will be like.

When I flew the family nest over 15 years ago, I suddenly had to cook for myself. But it wasn’t long until this necessity became a virtue. Today, rattling those pots and pans is a fundamental part of my life. I’m a true foodie and devour everything from junk food to star-awarded cuisine. Literally. I eat way too fast.
