Available now: Voxara gaming microphone by Corsair
With the Voxara, Corsair is expanding its product range for content creators. To this end, it equips the microphone with control options directly on the device and relies on the integration of Wave Link.
With the Voxara, Corsair is launching its first premium USB microphone. The eye-catching RGB lighting already gives it away: the target audience is primarily gamers and content creators. For this group, the device includes several convenience features, such as quick muting by tapping the top and integration with Elgato's audio software, Wave Link.
The microphone is also available in white. Our inventory management team is currently clarifying when it will be available.
Thanks to its cardioid polar pattern, the microphone captures sound best from the front, while noises from the sides and rear are attenuated.
Corsair sent me the microphone for testing. It makes a solid impression, but I haven't connected or tried it out yet. I am curious to see how well the mic performs compared to my Rode NT-USB. 25-millimeter condenser capsule and 32-bit recording
With a 25-millimeter condenser capsule, Corsair is using a relatively large diaphragm design for a USB microphone. According to the manufacturer, this allows the diaphragm to capture voices with more fullness and detail. Furthermore, the Voxara supports recordings of up to 32-bit and 192 kilohertz. While these values do not guarantee better sound quality, they do offer more headroom for signal processing and post-production.
A shock mount to suppress noise from vibrations and a pop filter are already integrated into the Voxara. It comes with an aluminum desk stand, but you can also mount it on a microphone arm.
A special feature is the OLED display. It shows you information about microphone gain, mute status, and the balance between microphone and PC audio. You can control various audio settings and the RGB lighting using two dials. The Voxara is compatible with Corsair's iCue lighting control, allowing colors to be synchronized with other iCue devices.
AI noise reduction and Wave Link
The content creator brand Elgato has been part of Corsair for several years. The Voxara is therefore designed to work seamlessly with Elgato products, such as the various Stream Deck models.
With Elgato's Wave Link software, numerous microphone functions and audio sources can be managed centrally: you can mix your microphone, game audio, music, and other audio sources separately and, if desired, even send a different sound output to your live audience or your recording track.
Unlike many older USB microphones for content creators, the Voxara comes with AI-powered noise reduction, according to the manufacturer. This feature is intended to reduce distracting background noises, such as fan noise or keyboard clicks, in real time. In practice, this could reduce the need for additional post-processing.
