A Tech Affair episode 168: Meta Quest 3, Hollywood strike, "The Creator", "EA Sports FC 24"

Meta Quest 3 makes everything better, but is it good enough? Hollywood may soon be on strike. "The Creator" delights the sci-fi fans in us and "EA Sports FC 24" is "FIFA" with a new name.
Meta wants to turn the living room into a virtual playground with the Quest 3. We are sceptical as to whether the hardware upgrade will be enough. Investments are also being made in AI. There are dozens of them and across all meta services such as WhatsApp and Instagram. But only in the USA for the time being.
Unity, an engine for creating games, has apologised after a brazen pricing model adjustment. Will that be enough to make up for lost trust?
In Hollywood, the writing community has reached an agreement with the studios after months of strike action. We explain what came out of it.
In Big Screen, Luca raves about "The Creator". The cinema film may not tell a particularly original story, but the realisation should delight all sci-fi fans.
"EA Sports FC 24" is the first part of the "FIFA" series with new names. Not much else has changed, including the fact that Luca will once again be putting in countless hours. You can register here for the Playground Session, which Luca, Domi and I will also be taking part in.
Just before we recorded the podcast, the new "Counter-Strike 2" was released. We gave out a few headshots and talked about the most important changes.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
