Was the bios also updated in the course of the last campaign for these motherboards from Asus, so that 5th Gen can run on it? or do you still have to update the bios itself first?
I bought the MB 2 weeks ago and it still had the FW from August 2020 on it. The computer with a Ryzen 5 5600 only booted after a FW update. But it went quickly and without any problems. If the MB is connected via an Ethernet cable, it even boots automatically. However, I have not tested this function myself...
Status of my information (excerpt from e-mail dated 25.03.2021 to the supplier):
Short feedback on W10 pro 64 bit for your information only:
1. installation starts, but does not find Intel® Ethernet Controller I225-V for ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI) => Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB.
2nd Known problem (see footnote), with external SSD Samsung (EVO 870) and already existing W10 Family (ancient and repeatedly embellished with updates and upgrades) everything works; ASUS has once again not covered itself with glory and MS was probably also involved. I still can't really understand the whole thing, but it doesn't have to be.
3. attempts with newer W10 ISO files failed at first.
4. since 23.03.2021 ASUS has finally improved the BIOS (from 1803 or 2003 to 2007-beta) and installed it with W10 ISO (Win10_20H2_French_x64) incl. CB-DL Manager directly from MS; now everything runs like clockwork.
5. wasted a lot of time, but also learned VERY MUCH, back to the old DOS times (3.0 and later in the last century).
Today = 04.06.2021: Version 2401 Beta Version from 2021/05/28
Try it without Bios update, otherwise update to the latest version.
With greetings from the Welschland and stay healthy
