Another important difference: the old switch is magnetic and thus adheres to metal (e.g. door frames) without any problems. The 2021 is made of plastic and must be glued or screwed. At least it also has pre-attached adhesive strips.

The new version has a new design. In addition, the bracket was enlarged to cover the light switches installed in the house in Europe as well.
