Sonos Boost
Wi-Fi
Bought a Sonos One SL to test it before equipping my whole house with Sonos products. My 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi connection at home is extremely erratic (Salt Fiber). Sonos states that if you have wifi connection problems, ONE product can be connected directly to the router. This can be any Sonos product. What concrete advantage does the Boost have over the One SL as an "access point"? By the way, my house has three floors, all of which will/will be equipped with Sonos products. Thank you in advance for your feedback(s).
I have been using SONOS speakers for several years in my multi-storey family home (11 speakers). A few months ago, the audio dropouts became more frequent. I am not sure if this was WLAN interference (other nearby WLANs on the same channel). I then used the "SONOS Boost" and the problem has improved noticeably. Now when I have dropouts from time to time, it's mostly from radio streaming (so probably on the source side). I have no audio dropouts when I run Spotify or my local audio files from my NAS storage.
Sonos Boost creates a dedicated network, ensuring a secure amplified connection.
Each Sonos box also forwards the wireless signal.
Optionally, you can set up all devices, if there are dropouts you still have the option to use the Boost.
