I don't know what Dark Rock is. I assume it is a CPU air cooler that covers the memory. The height is standardised. You have to pay special attention to very good cooling (circulating air) with these RAMs because they run extremely hot. Without cooling fins AND good airflow, it makes no sense to operate overrated RAM. You risk an unstable system. My tip is to remove some CPU cooling fins or get a CPU
water cooling system. These are now affordable and easier to install. If you remove the heatsink they are 40 milimetres high... but without the heatsink you should have a good airflow in your case because otherwise the rams get quite hot and potential bluescreens can occur. I cooled these rams myself with the corsair airflow pro 2 ram cooler back then... besides, the use is only worthwhile with a high degree of overclocking of the cpus because with intel the memory controller
can only effectively use up to 1600 mhz without oc...I guess less than 3 cm, but I couldn't measure it exactly because my RAM is installed and removing the cooler wouldn't be that easy. By the way, my cooler is different from the one in the current photo - and much lower. Otherwise, I recommend the same as jakobkurtn. I also have a water cooler - and space, as much as I want, with processor (140W, 8 core, HT) just over 50° at 100% load...
