I want to set the colour only once, but then operate it with a normal 1/0 switch. Can I do this without losing the colour?

If you switch off the lamp with the switch (i.e. de-energise it), the settings will be lost and the lamp will return to the default setting the next time you adjust it.

The Ikea Tradfri can do what you want. And is Hue compatible.
