Various online reviews of this card complained about a so-called "coil whine"; an annoying buzzing noise, quite loud, which the card sometimes produces under stress. There are even YouTube videos about it. Does anyone have any recent experience with this?
The so-called coil whine comes, as the word suggests, from coils that are under load. This can occur especially under increased load, as with power supply units or monitors. The problem here is that the quality of the individual components varies greatly, i.e. this hardly occurs with 9 cards, but is present with 10. Many cards have this, regardless of the version or manufacturer, but the extent will probably vary.
No cool whine noticed, but I don't need the card for gaming, but for rendering. But then it also runs for 24 hours under full load.
I play in 4K with this card and have not yet been able to detect the "coil-whine".
My card has coil whining from time to time, especially audible at the start of a game. But then it decreases so much that I no longer hear it.
