You can partly buy the EU version. What is the difference to the CH version?

Helpful answer

Certain features may be limited or unavailable on an EU model in Switzerland, such as VoLTE, WiFi calling, Samsung Pay and other services. Also, EU models are not eligible for cashback or other promotions in Switzerland.

After reading the answers in various forums, which did not satisfy me, I called the Samsung call centre to find out what the difference was between the various versions.
The answer was shocking:
- "if you are using a Samsung Galaxy S10e or other with an EU firmware on a CH mobile network, you will not receive any updates for your mobile."
- Furthermore, it is not possible to connect Samsung wearables (watches) with different firmware to the smartphone via E-SIM.

So according to Samsung, all smartphones with an EU or D firmware that are operated in Switzerland with a Swiss provider will be excluded from the firmware updates (operating system).

Quite strong stuff, so it is not surprising that SamsungPay does not work with this huge security gap. This is real value skimming

Puhaaa so have fun all Samsung users

PS: Still looking for a new smartphone that is safe and state of the art.

The packaging has a label: "european sim card only" : This Product should be activated with a SIM card issued from a mobile operator within Europe. ..*)... To use SIM cards from other regions, a cumulative call over five minutes must first be made with the SIM card from European operators.

This concerns a "regional SIM card block" (not a mobile operator block).

I even have HK version. Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Banking App (UBS) - they can't pay. NFC module works (I can read NFC labels). WiFi Calling / VoLTE I have not tried. Otherwise the phone works fine, gets HK updates etc. Super 4G (Qualcomm:)
