You can power the Rodelink via the micro USB connection. So you can use it via a cable without batteries. My question is, if you put rechargeable batteries in and connect a micro USB cable at the same time, will the batteries charge?

If I understand correctly, you would like a "beast of burden"? I can't say whether it would work. I would follow Firedart65's suggestion and use an external charger. They have electronics to protect and optimise the batteries, which the RODE certainly doesn't have.

As far as I know, it does not work. I haven't tried it yet, but the instruction manual is silent on the subject. However, you can also charge the two AA batteries externally. You can easily access the batteries through the slide lock. --- It should also be mentioned that the TX module has a higher energy consumption than the RX module. Therefore, always take a few charged reserve batteries with you ;-)
