Why is the Ryzen chip more expensive than the Intel i9 9900k here? The price should be the same.

Helpful answer

Digitec belongs to Migros. Microspot belongs to Coop. And what are these two near-duopolists doing everywhere? They buy up the competition and raise prices (or prevent competition). Nothing new...

Ricardo was bought by TA-Media, now the fees have gone up to 9% - as soon as you have a big enough market share.

The PC sector was rather the exception, here we had very competitive prices compared to abroad for a long time - until the major distributors got in...

.. And, someone has to pay for Digitec's stupid blogs!

Our competition law has no teeth, no wonder when you see that the Coop and Migros (like the banks) are fighting over the ex-Federal Councillors and rewarding them with salaries for their past tenure rather than for their performance for the company.

And anyway, it's only supposed to cost 499, I think it's a disgrace how digitec has been raising prices across the board in recent months when you compare it with the top price search engines.

Chill out a bit here.
The price goes down quickly after a few weeks. That was the case with both Ryzen series. And, who knows, maybe Intel is now forced to change the pricing of their Prozzis...;-) Wait and see.

3900x 12 core 9900k 8 core
3900x in single core tests like cinebench r20 with slower cpu has almost/better than 9900k score
for the price now, a 3900x with X570 motherboard makes more sense for 99% of buyers I would buy one today (own a 9900k myself)
you get more features and a more modern cpu for the same price, Ryzen isn't as fast for pure gaming but if you don't have a 1080p 120+Hz monitor and really care about having 100+fps all the time it's not important
you cannot compare other countries prices with switzerland especially the US, US price are only for US Canadians pay more than swiss, australia way more than swiss, france too 3900x digitec price is totally ok

Then every day to the overpriced gas station shops and many other of the strange food shops that is then again no problem...of good food no one wants to know anything but complain when you pay once 50 more for a cpu that lasts for years....lustig the

@Dominikheld180 Well, the price recommendation is the same. Customs comes on the i9 too and it's not that different^^. Anyway, both chips are too expensive in Switzerland. 499 USD is currently 494.78 CHF.

Mimmmimimi at the highest level! Ever heard of supply and demand? I'm happy to pay the 20 Stutz more compared to the other shops in Switzerland (according to top prices), but in return I have a handy shop with a decent search function for all the items I've ordered etc. Customer support is also top.

And if you're already railing against Coop and Migros, then please also mention the other wholesalers the PCP Group and Brack. So moderate, if it's going to be brüellsch, then please do it properly!

But you also have to pay attention to customs etc. We don't really know what exactly is charged.
