Where is the sound? Why does the laptop have such problems with the driver?

I was recommended this laptop by my partner and I would be very happy with it. It looks very nice and is not quite as heavy as I thought it would be.

But: The sound is completely damaged! My partner knows quite a bit about PCs and can reinstall it for me every time. But every time I switch the laptop off and on again, the sound no longer works! It's really annoying! I decided to buy a more expensive laptop in the hope that it would be good and last a long time. And now this! I don't know what to do anymore... All I want is a laptop that works perfectly! (Month of purchase: October 2017)

To check the hardware, you could download a Linux Live CD and start the notebook with it. If everything works, then it is due to the drivers. Live CD's are available for example: https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Desktop-CD/ or https://www.debian.org/CD/live/

Have you ever tried to switch the sound on/off via the function key? Sorry if this is already clear!
I bought this notebook for a colleague and set it up. It has been running for a while now with daily use without any problems.
