Whenever I connect my PC to a stereo system, it hums in the background. Can I get rid of this buzzing with this device?

i use the USB input into the DAC and i have no hum or buzz in the background. was the analogue output of the converter (cinch) plugged into the right place on the amplifier/preamp? check the cinch cable. possibly use a different input on the amplifier/preamplifier. possibly also test the DAC with headphones - then you will at least know whether the humming has something to do with the stereo system or not...

should fit if you connect the PC via the optical digital output. SPDIF / TOSLINK. The buzzing is called a hum loop if you want to find out more about it on the internet.
Sometimes turning the plug can also help. See for example: http://www.heise.de/ct...
