When the PC stops transmitting sound, the link cuts off after about 2 minutes (the base station no longer transmits sound to the headphones). And then I start to hear external sources in my headset, like the neighbour's TV apparently. Is this normal? It's not safe at all, does that mean that my neighbours can also hear what my base station is broadcasting? I think I'm going to return the product, I don't trust it at all.

I have not encountered this problem but perhaps you are on the same channel as a neighbour. Try changing the channel.
