Question about Apple SuperDrive

Apple always pays very well for its products. In return, however, they usually last much longer than competitor products. Let's say if the drive lasts 8 years and you have to buy a new one from a competitor after only 4 years, then the purchase price is worth it... if you're not interested in durability, then you'd better buy one from a competitor...
