What would you do? Keep 2x 1070 GTX SLI from MSI or switch to 1080 Ti from Msi?... (For gaming on 4k)

Moin,

If you really want to do 4k gaming, then I would go for the 1080 Ti and depending on whether you are doing Let's Plays or streaming, leave a 1070 installed. That way you can use the second card as a rendering/encoding card and don't have to let the CPU do it, so you can stream in best quality pretty easily even though your upload bandwidth is not enough.

definitely the 1080 ti. less noise, less hot air and less frustration with games that don't support it.

To buy a new graphics card in such a short period of time seems extremely exaggerated to me.
If you already have SLI 1070 anyway... then first test yourself how the whole thing runs.

If you run into performance problems, you can always upgrade.

Maybe your SLI 1070 will even last a while, and by then there could be the next generation of graphics cards.

The TI is clearly the current high-flyer, so if you didn't have a graphics card yet and had to choose between the SLI 1070 and 1080TI, you would clearly have to go for the 1080TI.

But try it out first.
Digitec has fast delivery times if the performance is not enough for you ;)

keep your old cards the money you get for the two is less than what the new one costs.because no one pays you the new price. have 2x gtx 980ti still in there i will rather upgrade abr 4k with 2x gtx 1070 should be enough. because i only have 6gb ram your have 8 and the gtx 1070 is just as good wi my 2i gtx 980ti have tested.

You'll certainly be able to gamble more than adequately with the SLI combo. Games that don't support SLI are usually not that hungry for performance and should run smoothly without SLI on a 1070. It really doesn't make sense to switch to a 1080 Ti now, unless of course you have a 1080 Ti SLI :D

Hello all.
I have two MSI GTX 1070s in my computer, but I also had to experience that two graphics cards produce a lot of heat.
The performance in 4K gaming is but absolutely the hammer and completely sufficient.
I have mitigated the problem of heat with three additional fans, so it works quite well.
I haven't had any problems with SLI yet, except for the temperature.

Well, there's no less noise because the two 1070s from MSI are very quiet and the SLI performance is certainly on par with a 1080Ti. Less hot air and games that don't support SLI are legitimate points, though. Personally, I'm waiting for the next generation of graphics cards, as my SLI team 1070 will have more than enough power by then...
