What is the difference between the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen and the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen? I know that the 2i2 has 2 connectors. But the connection looks different. Are they both XLR? Also, if I only have 1 XLR mic, should I get the Solo?

Hello

I'm not a super hero in this area and only bought this to make a little music. But a colleague of mine said that if I only want to connect 1 microphone, one with one connection is enough. But if you like it a lot, I could also connect a guitar or a piano to a second connection. This information led me to buy the 2i2 2nd Gen and the price difference is not too big.

If you also want to record music or something, I can recommend a good programme that is free to get started with.

But if you want to start a little more professionally, I can recommend Cubase. It costs about 100 Swiss Francs but you can upgrade if you want.

I hope I could help you.

Great. Then I'll get the one with an XLR connection, my epiano is via usb so I don't need a MIDI / XLR connection. Thanks for the help.
